Double Deep Pallet Racking

Double deep rack is racking that is used where a greater storage density is required. It is essentially a selective pallet racking system that accommodates two pallet loads, stored back-to-back and requires a special fork truck called a deep reach truck. This lift truck allows operators to retrieve pallets from the back pallet position. 

The double deep rack offers medium storage density at a low cost. Inventory stored in a double deep pallet racking system would follow a FILO inventory method, meaning the first items stored in the system will be the last items to leave. Products that don’t require immediate access would be a good fit for double deep pallet racking, as storage density is increased but accessibility is not. 

Double deep pallet racking is a great way to achieve higher density storage, at a relatively lower cost.
